I just picked it up a few minutes ago open box for $1,357 fair condition. I'm in Florida so that qualified for no tax and best buy is giving a $75 reward plus about 15 percent back if you apply for the card. Pc came with charger and it looks like it has a tiny little dent at the top, other than it looks super clean and I will be testing it today.

to get customers into the door with "cheap" looking price but as is is useless

I did this as well in Florida. Grabbed an open box - excellent for $1453 which put me into tax free zone, additional $100 savings.

16gb is definitely not enough in 2025 but with the money I saved in taxes plus $75 reward and open box discount. That will buy me up to 64gb of ram and 2tb ssd on the second slot.

"Useless" is a bit of hyperbole. Suboptimal, for sure. Nice to know it's upgradable.

Plus you'll get a $75 reward, with the money you saved just upgrade the ram and add a 2tb ssd. That is exactly what I'm doing.

How do you get the $75 reward?

I just checked and it applies automatically within a couple of weeks if you have Bestbuy total. I have it because of all my electronics that my kids and I buy there.

Most video games don't use more than 16GB so for 99% of the people out there there isn't an impact to them. If there is no impact then it doesn't make sense for most PC builders to include any more than that. Of course they'll include it on the very expensive models because it is kind of expected at those prices but not for normal gaming laptops. I think we are still quite a ways out before 32GB becomes standard.

I bought this laptop new a month ago from BestBuy and it has been restarting randomly. I upgraded the RAM to 64GB and updated the BIOS, but the problem persists. The restarts often occur after my mouse stops responding, even while video and sound continue to work. It also sometimes restarts when I wake it from sleep.

Are you sure it has a Nebula display? The product page for this particular item doesn't use that term anywhere that I can find. Other "Nebula Display" marketed items have 500 nit displays and higher resolutions. This one is marketed as 300 nits.
