The Good...This thing is pretty good on carpets, AMAZING suction. The vacuum part is very good on carpets and hard wood floors.
The Bad.... The mop is not the greatest AND while it detects a carpet it increases the suction power, it does not avoid carpet when the mop attachment is on. And mop just drags, actually mop is pretty bad unless you set it to max water usage (only can be done in app) and then it actually gets rid of streaks, foot prints and very light dirt.
Conclusion... this is one of the best deals at $180. If you have alot of carpet and you really only care about the vacuum... this is amazing. If you have mix of carpet or rugs on hard wood floor I don't think I would get this model.
While the mop goes on carpets, you can set "no go zones" but that just sounds too difficult.
I have all hardwood and I am willing to pay more for a better mop.

I have mixed hardwood and carpet and only vacuum. Would this work?
Thank you
Can I turn off the mop feature altogether if I don't want it mopping? I just want it on the high power suction/vacuum the entire time. My s4 max just started acting up.

Yes, it seems to notice when on carpet and it increases it's suction. But all controls can be found on the app.

mop feature is an plastic attachment that snaps on very easily. Point is, you can run it just as a vacuum if you want.
Lastly...
After all my research for the best bang for the buck and mopping is important to you...
I think I will look for a Dreame X40 Ultra Robot Vacuum. Refurbished of course. It is "last year's tech" and the new one (X50) is better in almost every way... such as... hotter wash, much lower profile and dual non tangle brush (first in the industry). But the X50 is just way to much money and you can find the X40 as low as $440... will wait for it to sell for $399 and then I will jump.
There are also a few other models I am considering but the X40 seems to be the best value.

Assume they'll drop to that price around black friday on their ebay store again? I have been considering the same thing to be honest.
This is the same as the Q5 Pro but at $40 more than the Q5 Pro sold when on sale ($140). Looks like they changed the model number and raised the sale price.
Anyway, this is a fantastic vacuum (dual brush, high suction)! Ignore the mop, it's worthless as a glorified swiffer -- dont even bother attaching it.
If you don't want the expense or the maintenance headache of a mopping & vacuum robot, these vacuum only Roborocks are fantastic deals.
NOTE: Change the suction power setting (you can set it by room). The default value is lower suction to reduce noise but then doesnt suck as well.

It is for me but just keep in mind all the extra stuff just adds complexity and cost so more things to break and more things to replace. Like bags for the auto empty and stuff. It's all about how much you want to spend vs be lazy..
