This is such a good price for a pedal even at 20$. Getting nice simple compressor is great for a player

I have never seen the Amazon Basics branded pedals. Their non stick heavy duty aluminum foil is great... rechargeables are so so.

These cheap pedals from brands like Amazon, Donner and Behringer seem fine until you try a good one and realize how bad your tone has been the whole time.

Highly disagree. It varies from pedal to pedal, but there are tons of cheap models that sound great. Some are duds, some are identical clones of well-known models, and some are just their own thing, but still on par with the major brands. I bought an Amazon Basics delay for like $15-$20 a while back. It's different than my Boss, but doesn't sound inferior at all. It even has tap tempo!

I don't have this one so can't comment on how loud the pop is, but I have plenty of boutique pedals that do this to some degree. A common problem with true bypass switches. (No clue if this thing suffers the same design flaw).
