Good price. Very tempting. I have been wanting one of these but I don't need it. My diesel generator will not start when it is crazy cold. My big gas generator/welder is overkill and expensive to run. Sounds like I do need this.

@PurpleMitten6516-Are there any details on the new generators you're referencing that will come out in the spring. I'm interested to see if I should wait or purchase now.

Up to 3000w worth of stuff, yes.

Edit. Do some math and looking up how many watts whatever you want Powered takes.
Also know that some things like a fridge with a compressor might only use let's say 50 watts a majority of the time but when the compressor kicks on it could be 500w so you need take that into account.

If you live in a small RV. For a regular house you can use extension cords and limit usage (no central air or anything 240v)

Dang so I should probably hold out for a 5000w+ then. I have an old hot tub hookup in my backyard. I was thinking about putting in some type of cutoff switch at the breaker, and then back powering the house using the hot tub hook up.

I also have no idea what I'm doing

Call an electrician and see what a transfer switch will cost near you. You don't want to play around with wiring this up on your own based on what you've suggested. You're not likely to break anything too bad, but when the power cuts out pumping electricity onto the grid puts others at risk if not properly set up.

I think transfer switch for house needs 240v. Maybe you can just connect one side knowing what you can flip on or not. Get some estimates and see what they say. otherwise 12AWG extension cords are your best friend
