Drives like this are massively overkill for most people, however it is likely among the best consumer drives available right now.
Thanks, I'm not a normal user looking for fps in games (but I do also game.) I work directly with AI models, large data sets, software development, cad programs, video/photo editing, and other high I/O related tasks. I also have data streams from my pc over ethernet to a 10gbps LAG connected NAS that are constantly feeding and receiving bi-directional data. This sounds like what I'm looking for so appreciated.

That's a pcie4 drive, this is pcie5. In theory it's almost twice as fast. How differently it performs is HIGHLY application/setup specific.

really depends on the read/write patterns. You might want to look up tests of several drives and compare the QD 0/1/etc. performance. PCIE5 drives excel at sequential read/write but they're often pretty similar to PCIE4 when it comes to random. The only drives with significantly higher random performance are Optane, which aren't really sold anymore but are still floating around on the market. You might want to look a little deeper into the specifics of how your workloads interact with the drive.
