thank you for code. and possibly will work for anyone. Just keep in mind, whenever you are going to order something there, you can put in Google "rockauto 5 off reddit" and there will be link to reddit thread, where almost always someone post 5 off code. Anyway thanks to post maker.
These 5% codes are always offered. There is nothing slick about this. They email them out constantly. A quick Google search and you can get a 5% off code for rock auto.
For anyone not familiar with Rock Auto, these guys are very reputable. I buy my brakes / rotors (among many other things) from them and they're literally always the cheapest. I'm talking about price comparison over 20 years, they always win.
Edit for clarity: my response is to just confirm this vendor is legit. Not vouching for the quality of any or all products they sell. As always, YMMV and do your research to know what you're buying. What I'm just confirming is that they're a legit business and you won't be scammed.

Are they? I've ordered various things over the years, oil filters and bulbs were fine. Replacement tail light housing was fine. Shipping is always expensive and complicated. When I needed a replacement mirror for the side door, I ordered from Amazon. It was a shaky funhouse mirror that rattled when the car was running. Funhouse because everything was ballooned. I returned it and bought one from Rockauto with comments just like yours in mind. The guts looked exactly the same, nothing like the OEM, it rattles, though not as bad, and the mirror isn't funhouse quality so it IS an improvement, but it is nothing like OEM. The rattle drives me bonkers. Rockauto doesn't nail it all. I didn't choose the cheapest option, I chose the only option.... before you try to turn this against me. Rockauto is fine, but a little overhyped. Sometimes cheaper if you can work out shipping. I personally like the website, but it is dated looking.
5% off is almost always going, by the way, this isn't necessarily a deal.

Good prices on hard to find parts, but shipping fees often kill deals unless there are several expensive items coming from the same warehouse. Items usually come from several clearing locations. Quality and fit can vary, especially with electronics. Look for clearance on brake parts, oil and air filters, spark plugs, drive belts, etc... Avoid precision electronics like mass air flow and oxygen sensors.

It could have just been my own experience. I typically order their 'premium' brand stuff and crosscheck it with whoever the actual producer is (e.g., KYB, Mann etc) and match it up against the same product # for wherever I'm buying from. This way I'm really just purchasing the same OE product without the price tag. I don't often opt for their budget listings since those are the ones that will certainly vary from a quality perspective.
Also I'm no Rock Auto fanboy so you'll get no hate from me. I'm just adding my experience and hopefully helping those who are unfamiliar. There are certainly better deals out there to be had (like the person above me mentioned that shipping sometimes sucks depending on the warehouse), especially if you need highly sensitive or niche products or even when Amazon runs flash sales or the algorithm marks it down.

As a business, even a lot of DIYers don't know how RockAuto functions.
In short, they're an online storefront that has a network of auto parts suppliers that drop ship orders to the customer.
RA does have a broad selection, and the newsletter often notes that they add new lines to their selection, but if would be difficult to carry the amount of inventory they offer.
However, RA has no "warehouses" as they imply, and carries no inventory. Their order system dispatches orders to the supplier, who packs and ships them. The parts are never at any point handled or sniffed in person by a RA employee. That's why the experience can vary widely, because it depends on the supplier fulfilling the order.
Each one of the suppliers has their own specific courier options, which is why the shipping options and costs also vary so much, depending on what is ordered, and whether the various parts on an order can come from one supplier, or different suppliers. The "Warehouse A/B/C" algorithm on the site tries to steer shoppers into options that consolidate orders into fewer suppliers when possible to reduce shipping costs, but that is often not possible, so the shipping costs rise when multiple suppliers must be utilized to fulfill all of the various parts on an order.
Those suppliers can run the gamut -- from a large, multi-branch auto parts wholesaler, to an indie auto parts shop.
And they're relatively easy to identify. Unlike an Amazon shipment, which has a standard catch-all return address pointing to a central fulfillment administrator, the return address on RockAuto packages can be traced back to the place and supplier that received, packed, and shipped the order. A quick online search of the return address, and "Smitty's Car Parts" or whatever is revealed to be the actual vendor.
For clearance parts, there is a large surplus/NOS parts vendor in Texas that supplies a lot of that kind of stuff.
So the notion that RA acts as a single entity, and operates like a typical retailer handling an order from start to finish is a misconception. There are more moving parts involved with RA, so the experience has a much higher chance of being less consistent, whether good or bad.
I like Rockauto.
I like their website search routine. I like their descriptions of products. I like their prices.
Yes, shipping, for small items is expensive, and it is slow (not overnight like Amazon). But for large items, brake rotors or calipers, their shipping is very reasonable, and if you plan ahead, you get it when you need it. And, I have never received the wrong product.
