Negatives from working on it I see are:
-130mm travel front, 120mmrear, rear shock is an uncommon size if you ever need to replace. Not sure if you can do anything on the Giant Crest forks, the 2021 had Suntour front that you could adjust travel on.
-Very basic rear triangle, not advanced with bunch of bearings, not as good anti-squat as a Horst link
-Rear wheel hub is a weird 141mm QR skewer that only Giant used. Basically boost spacing, but with a QR skewer. Good luck finding a replacement wheel or hub with that if you need to.
-2022 comes with a 1x10 11-46 Deore drivetrain. It's ok, but really should be 11 or 12spd 10-52t if you want good climbing range.
-Seatpost tube has a kink that REALLY limits the insertion depth of a dropper post. You aren't going to be able to slam the seat all the way.
-Shimano MT-200 are serviceable brakes, but these are the cheapest of the cheap hydro brakes they make. Would recommend upgrading for anything serious.
Overall it's not a bad bike for the price, but your upgrade paths are VERY limited if you get it and decide you want to upgrade things later.

Rear shock is 7.25 x 1.75, which is a common size. I have no idea what you're on about here.
Almost every bike has a kinked seat tube that limits the insertion of a dropper post...that's not unique to this frame. If you want a frame that's too big for you, you don't get that 170mm drop no matter what bike you buy.
10 speed Deore shifts great, works great, and since this is a 27.5, the 46T low gear is nearly as low as a 29er with 51T. There are plenty of HG 12 speed cassettes, so you can upgrade if you really want to spend the money, but I see no reason to.
130/120mm is the perfect amount of travel for most people, who don't ride trails with huge rocks that require a 150mm+ enduro bike.
Likewise, Shimano MT-200 are great brakes...for a 130mm/120mm travel bike. If you're riding a 150mm+ enduro bike, you want the 4-pots...but even then the lowest end MT400 work just fine.
Point taken on the rear QR skewer, which is weird.
In short, you seem to be criticizing this bike for not being a 150mm+ 29" enduro bike, which would be a lot heavier and cost a lot more. This bike is great for what it is...a midrange MTB that will work great for anyone who isn't bombing VERY rocky trails at high speeds.

What year is this model? I think in '24 they updated the geo and went thru axle rear.

7.25 x 1.75 isn't common anymore, maybe 10 years ago, ok. Most bikes these days are trunnion and different measurements. Look at Jenson for stock, there is only 1 shock available in that size, and only 1 on the shelf of that.

You can get a Raidon R from Suntour still, but that's just a direct replacement.

"Almost every bike has a kinked seat tube that limits the insertion of a dropper post."
Nope, most bikes have changed in the last 5+ years to have straighter seat tubes to allow longer dropper posts. As droppers have become more popular and frame designs have updated, seat tubes are much more accomodating.
Yeah, 10spd Deore is ok, just a shame that they downgraded from the 12spd drivetrains they had on the 2021 model. You can go Sram SX or NX if you want an HG cassette, just annoying they downgraded it.
"who don't ride trails with huge rocks that require a 150mm+ enduro bike."
Lol, 150mm isn't an enduro bike, that's a basic trail/all-mountain bike. 120mm is more XC. Look at the tires they put on this, smaller tread, faster rolling (for a 27.5+), thin casings.
MT200's are ok, given the target market. I just prefer stronger, more adjustable brakes, even for newer riders. You could get a complete front/rear set of the MT200's for under $50 over the last year, they are fine, just pointing out they are the lowest end hydro's that Shimano makes.
"criticizing this bike for not being a 150mm+ 29" enduro bike"
Again, 150mm isn't enduro. But nah, just pointing out some of the things that have been issues from working on my wife's 2021 model of this bike and her feedback from riding it. It's a decent starter bike, but if you are wanting to really get into the sport, just know there are limiting factors as your skill increases and the "upgrade" bug bites.
