Amazing deal! This should power most homes(not you with the McMansion) especially if you have a soft start on your HVAC unit. Duel fuel sealed the deal

Wife wont allow me to buy a bigger generator until "we use ours more." We have a 2kw inverter and so far it's only been used once.

Also wish this was tri-fuel at $700.

What's the difference between the XP12000EH (this model) vs the XP12000HX model which is a couple hundred more?

almost pulled the trigger on this one—had it sitting in my Amazon cart, ready to buy, especially with their warning that only 8 units were left in stock. But heads up:

This model isn't an inverter generator. The power it outputs isn't "clean" (it generates electricity directly from the spinning engine, resulting in "dirty" or unstable voltage with fluctuations and wobbles). That can potentially damage, overheat, or outright fry sensitive electronics like laptops, TVs, or smart appliances unless you connect them through a reliable UPS, a high-quality surge-protecting power strip, and solid cabling.
On the flip side, an actual inverter generator acts like a built-in smart filter: It produces raw power first, converts it to DC, then inverts it back to smooth, stable AC that's as clean as what comes from your wall outlet. All that said, this is an absolute bargain for the right scenario—like powering tools, basic appliances, or non-sensitive gear during outages.
Just not ideal for my needs. For comparison, it's listed over $1,200 at Walmart.

A lot of people claim their non-inverter generator ran the whole house fine.

I'm with you, though, as my UPSes would likely freak out because of the unclean power.

It seems the $1k 9KW peak tri-fuel inverter is the best deal at the moment.

I have the big brother (13k) and despite 2 week long outages in its first year, nothing has been fried. The fact that it "can" does not mean that it "will". Whole house interlock, including a 6 ton A/C with a soft start.

Get a 50amp plug installed directly into your main box. Powers an entire house regardless of inconsistencies.

Using propane or natural gas is preferred over gasoline as leftover gasoline can gunk up the fuel system.

I have 5 UPSses around the house that wouldn't be happy with the generator. I think I'll spend the extra $ to get a tri-fuel inverter (if my wife would let me).
