For whatever good it may have, use Rufus to strip out the Windows 11 hardware requirement. As long as the laptop was made in the last 12 years, it can run Win11 perfectly fine and can result in you putting off buying a replacement. For maximum efficiency, go acquire Windows 11 IoT Enterprise ISO.

if it is older processor than say 12th gen intel i would just run windows 10 iot. (and you dont game or have to have the latest apps) so much less fluff than even windows 11 iot…

I personally vouch for Win 11 IoT Enterprise edition. I run it on i7-2600k, i7-3770k, and i5-7260U. Windows runs impressively well. No one will ever complain about not having OneDrive.

Check your terms and conditions before you bank on this, they may differ on each card. Max cash back (at least on mine) is $50. Still not bad, but not quite as slick.

It is incredibly lean and lacks much of the bloat. It lacks all the pre-installed apps like Maps, Widgets, Xbox, Cortana, Chat, OneDrive, etc.

Don't take my word for it. Setup a virtual machine with the ISO and play around with it. See it in action. If or when you're happy with it, use Rufus to strip out the TPM requirement and then you're in go mode for installing on hardware.

Lunar Lake with 140V and 32GB of RAM for $720+tax is quite good. Only issues I see are reported keyboard deck flex, 300nit screen, weaker battery life then many other lunar lake laptops while at the same time being heavier than other similar 14" laptops. I also think the color and design are not appealing, though that is completely subjective.
