If you need hotspot you need to pay 10$/month for each line.

It's like Verizon wants its current customers to switch to another competitor.

T-Mobile is superior. Verizon just wants to get people stuck in a contract before they realize the service is not what it used to be. Also, no. You will not be able to do anything with the phones until they are paid off with bill credits in 36 months.

Google Fi with free Pixel 10 offer is definitely better unless you need iPhones which are not sold at Fi. 36 months with Verizon are 1.5 times longer than industry standard 24 months (Like Fi).
can you please share that offer?

Verizon's basic plan coverage is horrible, we live in the city, but still don't have good signal. The call drops a lot.

can't we stay on Verizon for 6 months and then jump to T-Mobile or whoever is ready to pay off those phones?

I feel like you're using outdated information or just ignoring what the competitors DO have. WiFi calling is free for every carrier overseas and the plan I have with Verizon also includes international roaming.
I just got off a call with verizon reps yesterday on the same topic. Not their welcome plan unless you are on a grandfathered.plan from ages and feel loyal, it only comes with their plus plan, which is more expensive than OP and gives only limited GB of data. ATT doesn't have it even now, you need to pay $12 a day(used to be $10 max $50 a month)

Do you count as an existing customer if you're on someone's family plan but not the main account holder?
Shouldn't. It's not like they have all your personal information to validate against, just the account owners.

I think it is the PHONE NUMBER that ties you to existing. If the phone number is still with V, then you are existing.

2 years to be considered a new customer if you wish to go back. You may play between the 3 big companies.

So we are tied to verizon for 3 years, but does the plan still the same for those 3 years? Or is it subject to change, also do they have hidden fees?

sounds a lot like TMobile essentials plan, which doesn't include international data roaming. they're literally the same, some higher tier plans include international, but you keep trying to paint it like TMobile includes it.

Service wise the 3 big companies are equally good and bad depending on the location. T-Mobile used to be worse among others, however, last few years T-Mobile has improved a lot. Said that I don't get signal inside the house irrespective of ATT, Verizon or T-Mobile. Most of us in our community rely on WiFi calling and that way T-Mobile is a lot superior with free WiFi calling even outside the USA from international locations as well as free international data. You get limited features on Verizon and ATT after paying a lot for their most expensive plan vs T-Mobile's experience more plan.
Service/reception all depends on location for the most part. Switched to verizon a few years ago and i live in a major city but it was a dead spot at my work and around there. Couldn't even receive calls sometimes. But Verizon did seem more expensive compared to Tmobile back then who knows now. But the biggest issue that I think Tmobile has all these other carrier beat is travel service. I can use my Tmobile data for most country w/o worrying about any charge. Verizon charges I think $10 for the first 10 days which adds up if you have other family member going over sea too. This is the biggest crutch of their plan that most people don't know about.

Yes, Verizon data speed for unlimited welcome has been at 2G speed—completely unacceptable.

they're really tricky about it. there is a "3 year price lock guarantee" that only applies to the base plan cost. they've already said that some "fees and perks" can and have raised in price.

Has the field really changed this much? I sold Verizon, ATT and Sprint 5+ years ago at Best Buy. Ive had ATT since but been having network issues more recently in the LA metro area. I keep hearing T mobile is good but is it really now?
