I just ordered the $100 referb, non-soft serve version last week. at that price point, it's easy buy. not sure the same applies here

I originally bought it but ended up returning it as I did not realize how loud the product is. It sounds like a jet engine taking off which is fine if you live in a house but living in an apartment I quickly became worried of how bothersome it could be to neighbors.

In 4 one, was really looking at the Costco deal with 70 Costco card but I'll take a shot at this one.

My family members own these I think they're a great deal, you can make some really healthy ice cream. I prefer my ice cream extra unhealthy and already made in a box but hey this isn't a bad deal by any means.

Being loud is not even that big of a deal.

The real issue is taking the time and effort to make the ice cream, then waiting for it to freeze for 24 hours, THEN making it with the machine, and finally cleaning it

Who wants to spend actual effort making ice cream then wait 24 hours to eat it?

This is by far NInja's stupidest product and they stuck a soft serve component to sell more as no one was buying Ninja Creami's and you could find them day and night for $75-80 online.

Same, was eyeing the deluxe for months, and was extra ready to pull the trigger when I saw the swirl and figured it would push deluxe price down a bit.

I guess I don't know what fraction of the population only buys ice cream and eats it immediately when they want it, but obviously this is not the product for them.
Given the half-gallon and gallon sizes that exist out there, I'm guessing (hoping, really) that there's a large portion of the population with ice cream purchased ahead of time sitting in their freezer for the days they want ice cream. Having these tubbins prepped and in the freezer is no different, aside from the extra step of swirling it at the end. The added benefit being you're able to exactly control your macros, use lactose free or dairy alternatives, put in fresh fruits, directly mix in toppings, etc.

is this really the first time you've ever heard of making your own ice cream at home..? these CREAMi models (i don't have this soft serve version) is far more convenient than using the old style freezing bowls with mixers or even other larger standalone ice cream makers.

but yeah, if spending the time to make things at home with real ingredients, no chemicals, or making plant based ice creams isn't your thing because it's too much work... then yup, this ain't the product for you.
any at home ice cream machine has always been a niche product though, people are lazy and want things NOW!!!!!

MrGreed is obviously the part of the population that buys a quart of ice cream with the intention of eating it on the ride home from the grocery store... Wink

$240 buys A LOT of premium ice cream "with real ingredients, no chemicals", like.. years worth - probably as long as this thing will last lol
To each their own, but this strikes me as the king of consumerism / single-use kitchen machines.
