I have owned two of these dispensers since they were first released, and both failed for the same reason: the spring designed to stop pouring is too strong. Over time, it breaks the plastic handle. While the concept is excellent, the design needs to be revamped to prevent this recurring issue.

My question as well. Besides someone else above mentioning that these things tend to break (confirmed by reading 1 star Amazon reviews), I don't really see the utility of this over using a ladle for waffles, or a measuring spoon for crepes.

I guess my 3D printer will continue to earn it's keep.

I just use a mixing bowl with a spout. One item to clean, and it's a multitasker. These fit for purpose tools really need to stand out to earn a spot in a crowded kitchen, and I don't see this one doing that.

I've owned two of these over the years, and both have broken at the handle. Shame, because they worked really well right up until that point. (I bought the second in case it was just a defective unit, but no, it's just cheap manufacturing)

Thank you so much for posting this… I would've purchased one otherwise and then been frustrated when it broke due to the poor design. Thank you for sparing me the money and headache!!! hug

How many pancakes are you making that you need a batter dispenser? This has got to be for Mormon families with like 11 kids.

it could also be used to separate fats from sauces/ braising liquids.

FYI reviews say it's not ideal for making pancakes with chocolate chips.
