no it can't. and not really sure how necessary that is. It's a budget machine and will do fine for everyday tasks.

$220 for a new low spec computer. I am holding out for a core 5 N120u cpu from intel that goes into some of these low priced laptops. You don't absolutely need more than 8gb ram but on windows it can be a very minimum and I prefer 12gb and up. That cpu is new budget cpu so I might need to wait a few more months to get what I want. That or at least a RTX 4050 nvidia assisted gpu machine. Again a later model gpu that is not a top end so can go into a sub $500 sale laptop. I just want a 15.6" under $400 with a backlit keyboard.
Don't care about touchscreen, or 8 vs 12 vs 16 gb ram, or 512 vs 1 tb hd.
Why do none of the sub $400 lappys have backlit keyboard?

My experience is that most laptops with backlit keyboards are made in such a way that the keys aren't particularly legible in the dark anyway. I can see the keys, but I can't generally tell which one is which by sight.
