I don't see 8bitdo doing well in this price range. They're good but not that good... Wouldn't take one over a standard Xbox or ps5 controller
This is the closest thing to a PS4 controller you'll get from a third party. I'd take them over dualsense controllers, and absolutely over any Xbox controller any day of the week. Excellent handfeel and build, great battery life. A tiny bit expensive for this model - don't know what's different from the pro 2 - but I can tell you this much, it's a damn sorry thing that they don't actually work on the PS5 or I'd give them equal usage time with the Sony controllers.

if you read the rest of the thread, there are a lot of issues with 8bitdo that seem unresolved. I have a pro 2, 2 sn30pro wireless, and a wired sn30. they aren't really that great, they just look cool and feel nice. they have a lot of latency and input issues that are annoying if you game a lot

I haven't noticed any of that, I have four wireless and two wired pro 2's and they are all superb. I read the rest of the thread as well - I'm talking about what the differences are *supposed* to be between the 3 and the 2, not whatever weird unexpected defects there are with the latest iteration.I was not expecting the pro 2's to be as good as they were. It's the entire reason I bought multiple of them for two gaming computer setups in the house.

try measuring the input latency or playing competitive fighting games. lots of input delay, missed inputs, and false diagonals. granted that's asking a lot of budget controllers, but the newest ones now cost as much or more than standard ps5 and xbox controllers - they are no longer budget controllers, and should match or exceed the regular controller's performance at every level.

All of the 6 people who downvoted you have absolutely no clue about controllers.
Trust me folks.
I got 2x 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth and 1x 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth 2, 3 Xbox Controllers, and Switch Pro 2 Controller. The Switch Pro 2 is the best one (but it doesn't work for PC... sad), followed by Xbox.
I'd take Xbox controller over 8bitdo ANYDAY.

Note that the D-pad on this model and the SN30 Pro is prone to the false diagonal/false opposite problem. I have had to open up my SN30 Pro dozens of times to place and adjust the position of kaptan tape to prevent the false diagonals/opposites. Eventually I perfected the placement of the tape, but opening this up every time is super-tedious.
(False opposites happen when you press a direction, say, Down, and when you let go, it pops up and rocks all the way to the opposite side, triggering an unintended Up signal--very annoying for games like Tetris where you press Right, and then it issues a false Left.)
It depends heavily on what types of games you play. If you play Tetris or Contra or HellDivers 1, you will notice the false diagonals immediately. Other games are far more forgiving to the point where you might not even notice.
Can confirm. If you're getting this for tetris or street fighter, get ready to be utterly frustrated.
I like my $40 pro 2 as a scond player controller, but I still get frustrated that it can't turn on my switch 2. 8 bitdo needs to stay in the lower price range because in this range I'd rather just pay $10-$20 more and get the nintendo switch 2 pro controller that can remotely turn on the system
