Yuck. 4k 30fps pass through and only captures 1080p so probably best to ignore the 4k support and just assume it's a 1080p device.

That's probably because the audio is passed through as untagged PCM and whatever sound device they're using is expecting a different format (likely AC3/DD).The same problem occurs on sound bars when using DTS over HDMI-ARC when the bar only supports Dolby.That's why it has analog ports.
