Brushed back in the day may have been good, nowadays they just don't hold up on job sites. I imagine diminished quality to get you to upgrade in the tiered pricing system.

I've used harbor freight, ryobi, Milwaukee, and the fuel line for many tools. There is a very big quality jump from these to fuel. That said, these are definitely above homeowner grade for most use cases.

Do you need them now? BF could be the same price, or you could save $50-$100. BF was amazing now the sales are not what they were. If you could use them now I would buy, if you don't really need them, then gamble and BF might be cheaper.
