I have had 2 Zenbook S 14s and one VivoBook 14. They have all had very good trackpads and keyboards. They're far better than my older HP Spectre X360 OLED and current Dell (corporate) laptop. I'm not sure if they can compete with Apple, but not that far off. Just be sure to disable some of the annoying features like the left and right being a slider for volume/brightness, the easily-activated calculator, etc. (You can turn that all off in MyASUS.)

I'd probably include the 120Hz in the description. ASUS puts great screens in these.

This series of processors are really the sweet spot for the vast majority of users. I have a 226v i5 in a similar VivoBook and that thing absolutely chews through all kinds of things while the fan makes barely a whisper. IMO, unless you have a specific workstation task (AI, CAD, Blender, etc.), this is a very solid choice.

I generally prefer AMD, but they can't keep up with QuickSync in terms of efficiency or quality of en/trans/decoding and Intel knocked this series out of the park for "mainstream ++" usage. AMD will win (by a lot) for straight-up benchmark and performance numbers. (A lot of high-performance AMD laptop implantations run with fans at max and the laptop physically uncomfortable to hold/touch, just like older Intel designs.)

Oh, and you can turn off the RBG or set the color for the keyboard in windows "advanced lighting".

I bought this previously at $1259 and it's gone on further discount. It's a great laptop with impressive battery life. I had also tried the 32gb version with the Intel Ultra 7 258V, but the battery life in that is not nearly as good for some reason.

Note that this is for BRAND NEW. It is not an open box deal. The price is similar to previous open-box deals, though.

I tried this out today and ugh the keyboard is very mushy. Nice laptop besides that though, and great screen.

839 for 16gb soldered ram. Nah. Also integrated gfx, pass.

Too bad, I like my current Zenbook but it's getting old. And it's 8gb soldered. If I could just get the ram upgraded on that I would keep it another 5 years. But nope.

16GB on $1k laptops in almost 2026 is insane. Wish consumers wouldn't let cancerous manufacturers get away with this.
