Office 2019 and 2016 will no longer receive updates after mid September. Therefore, a newer version is needed. Somewhat less reliable Grey market versions can be bought for under $1. They can be bulk corporate licenses that are not supposed to be sold separately.

I am currently a 365 family plan user, but got an email a while ago that MS was stopping access to Publisher in October 2026. I am a pretty frequent user of Publisher so I am concerned. My current 365 subscription ends in July 26.

MS is telling us that if we purchase a copy of Publisher (i.e. not the subscription model I currently have) then we can continue to use the program after the end date. Does anybody know if this key would allow me to do that? Also, if I were to purchase it now, can I sit around with the code until July next year to use it?

FYI while it probably legit and you'll likely be fine, these are most likely grey market resells that are technically not allowed by Microsoft. They have the right to void these in the future.

This is how you do it from the Microsoft site:
1. go to here: https://setup.office.com/
Sometimes it will thank you for upgrading to office 365 but just keep going in this process
until you get to your office suite no.
2. Then it will say redeem your product key here: https://setup.office.com/redeem/enter-key
3. After you put in your key it will show you what product your key was for.
I just reloaded my office pro 2019 on a new ssd and it told me the product at this time.
If you can do it at late night it might go faster. I am on fixed wifi in rural area so that is
a concern.
Good luck. Let me know how it went. I hope it goes fast. PS. you may want to uninstall any previous MS office suites if you have them on your computer. I would just back it up in case you got the wrong key number although I have never had a problem.

what happens when you are fired and can't get another job because MS Word stopped working because you can't update your resume? jk..but what does happen when they fire your or you leave? hope the new firm also uses Office 360? BTW Office 360 is the so hated at my work.

You won't be able to access it any more through your work account as they generally unassign the license, block login etc. You either get a different job or purchase it for yourself.

Most companies restrict authentication (login) from a non-company assets, due to security risks, including data loss.Microsoft offers workplace discount, I bought Microsoft office for about 10$ many years back, I'm sure things have changed but you can check current offerings at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/w...nt-program

Just remember to turn off autosave or change the default setting which forces you to save to one drive in the cloud. Choose local save to computer, otherwise Microsoft will read all your documents, spreadsheets, etc

Is this one where I need to have a microsoft account linked to my pc to activate it? I'm assuming so if I want to move the license to a newer PC in the future?
