New AirPods Pro at next month's event, but not the max. Maybe next year.. anyways point being this is a safe buy if you're wanting this particular product.

Just bought it through your link. Black and Blue are the remaining colors.
Finally, AppleCare is showing up on the product page. I added it. About time.

Thanks for the thread.

Purchased these for $400 during the Walmart sale. IMO, $400 is where the MSRP on these should be, and on sale for $60-$80 off that is where I'd highly recommend them.

My highest quality headphones before these were the massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX at $200 and the Sony WH1000XM4 on sale also at $200 (on sale). Are these better? Yes. Even over Bluetooth, I still prefer them over the 6XXs. Do they sound twice as better let alone 3x better at MSRP? Absolutely not. I don't regret the purchase, but I'm willing to accept that it's a premium price.

However, there is one thing I really like, and why I'm considering buying a second pair for the wife. We use Apple TVs for our streaming boxes, and you can connect two Apple headphones at the same time. Two of these for watching at night when you have shared walls, or in our case while our child sleeps, is a killer feature. I've always preferred headphones over a surround sound system anyways. Only scales up to two people, but I'm not running a movie theater in my living room.

all that said, get AppleCare+ for them. It's $30/yr. Especially if you plan to work out with them as they have moisture issues (but seriously use AirPods if you are sweating)

What are the pluses in terms of sound when compared to the 6xx, even when amplified?

A big plus for anyone close to an Apple physical store is the easy repair or replacement with AppleCare.

For anyone with some expensive devices such as IPhone Max, you can include these to your AppleCare One plan for no extra charge. I already had two ProMax under AppleCare One. I had been paying $ 13.99 month each for AppleCare with theft and loss. AppleCare One is $ 19.99 for 3 devices and includes theft or loss. . Otherwise, the $ 59 two year plan is a bargain.
