Bought one of these a few years ago for cheap. The separate sides are frustratingly small to cook a full meal on, and having to setup up and cook using both charcoal and propane is also annoying. Unless you really, really value having access the different fuels, I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for the insight. If the two sides were combined, this would have been worth trying, but it does seem pointless to have them separated into two limited space areas. I like to use a smoker box with a gas grill, so having a charcoal side was appealing - if - they shared the same space.
When my last gas grill finally rusted out, I went with a Traeger pellet smoker. I like it for what it is, but miss the flame seared aspects of a gas grill and the ability to quickly cook a burger or something.
In the market for a 3-burner gas grill with a side burner.
I had this as my regular grill for a couple of years. It's lame to have half your grill sitting idle when you want to cook up a batch of burgers. You can buy their portable charcoal grill and add it as an offset fire box, which I enjoyed. That said, the process of traditional smoking is quite challenging given the very small scale of the upper charcoal grill. Really hard to control temps.
