Anyone own this particular grill? I can see the benefit if you want both the flavor of charcoal and the convenience of gas in one grill.

I had the 2 generations older version of the this grill from Lowe's 14 years ago and I loved it. Only reason I sold it was because I had to move for a job and I didn't have a patio in the apartment.

The convenience of just setting my charcoal rack inside of the propane side and prepping it there then transferring it over to the coal side can be dangerous if you have smaller children, but I never had a problem. I wore baking mitts when I grabbed the rack, of course. I would have evenly started charcoal without having 6 extra steps or a chimney starter. Also if I had a party I could use the burner and propane side. Honestly, if I saw this before I seen the recent Traeger deal I probably would have bought this again instead. Now that I smoked a Brisket, a chicken, a bunch of burgers, and several racks of beef ribs I probably won't be going back to charcoal.

Used to have it - it's an excellent grill, especially if you add the off-set smoker (sold separately) to the charcoal side. I probably in the grills lifetime grilled a literal ton of meat on it. Also living in S-FL grills tend to die rather quickly, but this one actually managed to last like 7 years.
