you can also usually borrow these for free (by putting down a refundable deposit) at a lot of chain auto parts stores, like autozone, etc. I've done it numerous times for home brake changes.

although for $14, might be worth saving a trip or two. also, this might sound random, but anyone reading this who is planning to do a brake change on a car they haven't done one on before: you might need a c-clamp in addition to this kit.

Mostly correct, but there are some cars that have the parking brake integrated into the rear caliper and require the piston to be rotated as it's compressed. Pain in the ass to do that by hand with a C clamp.

Also, not everyone has a big enough C clamp.

Yes torin is reputable for budget stuff. Can be found at Walmart, tractor supply, Home Depot etc. I consider them a step up from random no name brands at least. Been using their jacks and stands for many years.

when replacing rear rotors, some cars need a special tool to torque when compressing. typically I just borrow one this from my local auto shop but this is a good price.

I understand a c-clamp instead of this kit, but not with it. Been using a set like this for years, never needed a c-clamp with it.

Not any more, I have a cube thing that does 6 styles for the wife's kia. It was cheap and works fine. Man I hate working on newer cars.

Yeah the cube doesn't work on everything, a lot need to be compressed and spun at the same time the cube tool only spins and doesn't compress

Some brakes need turning while compressing.
Last time without this kind of tool I had to turn it with the wrench for angle grinder disks while compressing with C clamp plus a 10mm socket.

if it has an electronic parking brake then there is a special procedure in the car system that retracts it before you compress with a c-clamp. I think Audi you have to rotate with that fancy square others are talking about
