No amount of bleach, dw cleaners, ammonia, or anything seems to eliminate it as well as just using Cascade. It's crazy, but it works (this switching cycle has been done 4-5 times because I was always looking for the best deal, naturally).

Many times. It seems like once the bacteria take hold, they're pretty persistent. It's just odd that whatever is in Cascade keeps it at bay.
