care to explain why? Too aggressive memory push? For this board I would stick to defaults anyway.

google or reddit will explain it. but in short they are burning up cpu's and no fix yet.

no, it is not burning chips the way i read it. they did have an aggressive overvoltage setting that is fixed in their latst BIOS. if you do not push this board i think you are going to be ok. and yes update to the latest bios right away.

EDIT: No you are right there were some burned CPUs it seems

its still killing cpus, bios updates aren't working. take a stroll on assrocks reddit page and see for yourself. handful of new post just today 😉 wouldn't touch these boards if they were free. multiple people have had it happen twice now. but you guys do you.

You were right there were some killed CPUs, It is the same problem that others fixed in the the beginning of burned CPUs story. How come AMD didn't tell everyone.

Still it only happens on high end chips pushed to the limit it seems ( obviously to a greater chagrin). Still ASRock claims the latest BIOS patch fixed things, here is 3 month old video on that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbzDlR4omF4
Takeaway:
If you plan to use a 65W CPU for the lower end build you don't need to worry much, and I would update the BIOS straight away.
