If you're in an environment where you can't risk anything breaking the seal around your face, then you'd be better served by a proper cartridge-style respirator mask.
All seriousness, look at the N95s with the exhaust vent on the front. They make a world of difference for ease of breathing since most of your CO2 can escape. They'll keep your safety glasses from fogging up.If you're in an environment where you can't risk anything breaking the seal around your face, then you'd be better served by a proper cartridge-style respirator mask.
Sure, but the point of a mask is not only protect what you breathe in, but what others breathe in from you.
(If you couldn't tell, I do NOT care what others do or not do when it comes to their personal choices regarding medical PPE. If they wish to protect themselves, they're welcome to wear a mask. Or not. That's entirely their choice. As it is mine to wear one to protect myself.
Are you correct that wearing a mask helps protect others? Absolutely. However, that train sailed down the road a long time ago. I'm under no "obligation" to protect others at this point in time -- not part of my job, not my responsibility.
As far as this deal is concerned, these N95s are for the trades. Sawdust. Particulate matter in construction. There are plenty of other uses for wearing PPE other than (questionably effective) protection against a 5-year old virus that has had mandatory vaccinations forced upon the entire population, year-after-year.
As someone who has taken organic chemistry and lab biology courses, the average person has ZERO idea how to properly apply and dispose of medical PPE. It would boggle their minds that one absent-minded touch could render the entire protection scheme moot -- and likewise, for a simple trip shopping to three stores, just how much PPE they would need to consume (if they considered their car a "clean space").)
