1.75mm is what you will be using on almost all consumer level printers.

While the deal you linked is a good deal (I posted it lol), it is silk pla. Silk isn't hard to print, but is a bit more difficult to print than standard pla. I don't know what your primary applications will be, but silk is not as strong and I primarily use it for esthetic prints. I would recommend standard pla for someone's first filament.
thank you. i didn't know there are different pla types.. down the rabbit. hole.......i did mention i was a noob...
Just don't worry about filament brand too much the type you need to know for the temps to use but the brand I use is (whatever is cheapest on Amazon this week) and never had an issue! Well maybe I have My printer doesn't like cardboard spools but since I figured that out no issues with the cheap stuff as long as it is on a plastic spool!

I have the v3 SE. Never had to "tinker" with it as many have said one would and has been working fine for years.

Upgrading to this for faster print speed.
Must not print very much. I have 4 ender 3 v3 se and they all require constant adjustments.
Not sure why you need to adjust yours so much even my old Enders didn't need much in the way of adjustments. My K1 Max and K2 Plus I lubricate the rails once in a while and that is it. I did have a clog once but I was printing carbon fiber with a .4 nozzle so not the printers fault I was just too cheap or lazy to buy a .6 like I should have!

A little bit more you mean triple?
Doesn't it go on sale for 179.99 just the printer? For the A1 mini?
Don't know , don't care I wouldn't by a P1P because the build volume was too small so haven't given the A1 mini a second look but It isn't on sale right now! And even if it was $179 the A1 mini is not a better machine. A Klipper 3D printer is a Kipper 3D printer and just because you gush when you hear the word Bambu doesn't make them better. Yes they were better than other printers when they came out they were amazing compared to everything except a Voron but those days are long over!

Not really. Creality parts are all off the shelf generic Chinese stuff. You can easily source and replace anything on these.

I'll start with my usual Creality refurb disclaimer. The "parts only" machine I bought was new in box and in perfect condition. However, many have had quite the opposite experience. Looking at the Aurora Tech video it seems like the print quality is quite good, in the same ball park as any of the Bambu Labs. However, the print speed is on the slow side, similar to the Ender 3SE. A model that took ~3:20 min with the Flashforge 5M and ~4:20 with the BL A1, took ~5:40 with the 10SE. The resulting quality was good but the printer is slow by today's standards.

The build volume is the same as the standard Ender 3. That was the standard size for a long time (220x220) but now 250x250 is becoming the default standard. In my experience, most of the time the difference won't matter but that's not all the time.

The rest of the hardware looks good. It uses linear rails vs the V-wheels of most Enders. As one of the reviews said, this was an Ender 3 that got all the tricks. At full price, well it was too expensive. However, at under $110, the price + print quality looks really strong. I also like that it uses USB vs SD cards if, like me, you keep your printer off line. The built in light is also a really nice feature.

If your budget is tight or you really aren't sure about this 3D printing thing (thus a tight budget) this is probably a good option. However, I would easily take the FF 5M deal (~$190) over this. The 5M doesn't give up print quality while delivering a lot more print speed. Build volume is similar (220x220) but the 5M is limited to 220mm tall vs 250. Do keep in mind that many models prior to very recently were designed to fit on 220x220mm beds.

This vs the BL A1mini? This. The A1 mini is probably faster but the 180x180 build plate is an issue. The BL software work flow is almost certainly easier but I don't think many people will find the Creality process that much harder. The big complaint with the older work flow was dealing with things like getting the bed level or dialing in the bed offset. That's not a problem here.

Nope don't hate them at all just hate all the people that act like Bambu is the 2nd coming of the 3D printer savior and everything else is garbage. Bambu makes fine 3d printers, if they had larger build volume I probably would have bought one myself. The P1P was too small, the H2D I just don't like the dual head design, it makes 2 color faster but sacrifices single color speed and print quality for it. I would easily own the H2S if I was in the market for a new 3D printer but the K2 Plus and the K1 Max have my 3D printer needs covered for the moment. the Snapmaker U1 looks interesting but I thought a minute how many multicolor 3d prints would I need to make to justify spending $800 more on another printer and I would have to waste a lot of filament poop to make it a value add to my printers since I already have the Creality CFS on the K1 and K2. The reply to the A1 mini recommendation was because telling someone to buy a $350 priced item over a $100 item is a bit much for no real benefit IMO. IF the post was for a $300 Creality vs a $350 Bambu then that would be a reasonable suggestion in the same pricing ballpark but in general in anything in life for any item on Slickdeals I can find a better item for 3X the price! The A1 mini isnt really a better choice though ( unless you wanted to upgrade to multicolor specifically) as it has a smaller print bed and you are paying full price for a new unit VS getting a great printer that is refurbished for a great price! So kind of apple's vs oranges. Like telling someone looking at a $100 cell phone to buy a Iphone 14 cause it's better LMAO although not exactly because it isn't even better in the A1's case!

Coupon does not work
I tested it again now and it is still working for me. If unable to manually enter it, at the final checkout page, before hitting "confirm and pay", there should be a yellowish/tan banner on top of that age where you cane select "apply coupon".

Pass on this one. Way better deals than this ancient piece of tech. The kobra 3 with ace for 200 is a wayyyy better choice. This printer is basically an ender 3. It's 10+ yr old tech.
I have this exact setup and I couldn't be happier. Got both for $250 about a month ago and hit the floor running. It's been a dream.
