why do people keep commenting like someone will eat this in one setting. some of us work out daily just to eat bags of candy in the dark.

anyone on death row ever request something like this as a last meal? like 15 lbs of gummies candy and nothing else? would be pretty epic.
Actually yes. I used to know a bunch of people who worked at the SD state prison. Days before his execution in 2007 Elijah Page requested licorice, other candies, and soda. The warden granted his wish. the death row inmate got very sick after eating pounds of candy

Frozen broccoli or green beans are about $1.40 a pound every single day vs. this stuff for $2 a pound (on some sort of mega clearance).
I duno whether to laugh or cry, did you just send a link to green beans my guy?

Comparing dry unit prices is more relevant though. A pound of this candy is more food than a pound of frozen veggies due to the high water content in the veggies.

That's why we have a daily recommended caloric intake and not a daily recommended food weight intake.
Wait... candy has more calories than vegetables? How do I delete my comment.

I know you're being sarcastic, but my point is that vegetables really are more expensive. A 2000 calorie diet of mostly veggies is far more pricey than a 2000+ calorie diet of mostly candy.

I bought and received these and they aren't very good tasting imo.
Less gummies and more sticky chewies and flavor is weak.

Slickdeals blew away my reply and I'm no doing all the math again.
Flour is about the cheapest you can get for calories per dollar. ~3500 cals/$
Sugar and rice are around the same level as each other, but roughly twice as expensive per calories than sugar. ~2000 cals/$
Candy in even the cheapest form (ignoring some sort of clearance like this "deal") is 300-500 cals/$
Frozen Broccoli is about 100 cals/$
Romaine lettuce is something like 10-15 cals/$
I know you're not the original person I replied to, but the original comment was something about being so much more expensive to eat healthy. Candy is clearly calorie dense. No one is arguing it isn't. It also doesn't really spoil in any meaningful way as compared to fresh produce. Just from a bulk standpoint you're basically needing to ship about 20x the volume for most other foods compared to candy (like 20 bags of broccoli to get the same calories as one bag of candy).
However...
Lentils - 745 cals/$
Pinto beans - 1000 cals/$
Black beans - 866 cals/$
Avocado - 360 cals/$
Hardly an exhaustive list, but I think someone could find a way to eat pretty healthily at significantly less cost than eating candy.

TLDR; candy isn't a "cheap" way to eat with significantly more healthy options being 1/2 to 1/5th the cost per calorie. Avocado and candy are roughly in the same ballpark of cals/$.
