Nope. Motion Rate (which is just this brand's name for motion smoothing) can't even be turned on when gaming. You need a native 120hz display if you want higher framerate gaming.

Is motion rate 120 the same as 120hz for gaming purposes?

Will a Roku work on this TV, or will it conflict with the internal smarts?
Thanks

A Roku will work with every single TV that has an HDMI input. It's just like any other device. You don't need a Roku, since this is a smart TV, but if you just prefer the layout of the Roku, or whatever, then sure. However, if you're not using a 4K Roku, then the built in apps on this TV will be better.

Bought one about 5 days prior to this post as an overflow TV for NFL football and such... The UI is slow, so either be prepared for that or use an external streaming device. I haven't used it much yet, but it does look reasonably good in a bright room, which along with price was important to me. I was also surprised that all the picture enhancement stuff was turned off when I got it, which saved me a step. For the price I certainly won't complain as long as it lasts me a few years.

I would hold out a month or 2 and the TV deals should be better

no, motion rate is an artificial increase of fluidity of the picture. Great analogy would be framegen on graphics cards

Check local stores for clearance/open box too. Was at Walmart this morning and saw an open box 75-inch, QLED, 120Hz (actually 120, not fake TruMotion) Vizio for $300.

Should I get the extended warranty?
How does Amazon handle warranty if I need to use it within a year or two with my Amex card.
Thanks
