I'm still getting used to the spaces feature for when I am working on several projects at the same time. it's honestly just easier to have multiple tabs.
the in-house model is very quick and sufficient for most Google-esque tasks. my work flow usually involves using search for 99% of my task (even when I'm not literally 'searching') and then 1% using the labs feature to make the actual project (document, whatever). beware...Everytime you regenerate or reprompt under labs, it uses one of the 50 credits.
deep research is good for seeing the reasoning and 'thoughts' of the LLM while it finds answers to your question. I find that it is better for making math questions, since that's where the hallucinations are pretty bad (you can't make this shit up ..it will literally say that 2+2=7 if you are careless in your generations)...it is slower though, so if you're just asking for an answer to a simple question, no point in using it.
I re-upped via the comcrap promo at the 11th hour using the same promo code from last summer. you do have to make a new email. however, you can import your persona from your old account (ask the old account for your info, and then paste that info into the new account by saying 'this is my persona. remember this.'
your old account doesn't outright 'die' once it goes to free tier...you just have limited pro searches and you can't use the labs feature. keep it there for posterity sake in case you have any old threads with useful info.
I also run a local model (a jailbroken version of gpt-oss) via lm studio. for additional math questions for the sake of comparison with Perplexity and its various models.
Giving an LLM access to a browser with possibly active sessions on bank websites.
Giving an LLM access to aws cli, gcloud.
It's ridiculously easy to convince an LLM to drain your bank account and very hard to protect against it as evidenced by nearly constant jail breaks of gpt, Claude and Gemini models

If you previously subscribed to Perplexity Pro you won't be eligible.
"You are already subscribed or have previously subscribed to Perplexity Pro."
But I did prefer Gemini to it.
