From the product description:

That said, I do have 45W and 65W battery power supplies for my computer and phones for travel or commuting. I've also got a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D47KQCM?th=1 - one of which delivers pure sine wave AC for some of the more picky applications. Both convert voltage as well as adapt the plug and, I like the form factor better.
To each his/her own.
I've been very pleased with this company's products. Would be in for one if it also converted at this price.

Also, it's time to get rid of usb A stuff or phase out, not add new gadgets that puts you back in usb A mode !
old inventory consisting majority of usb A ports
Not everyone is on the bleeding edge of technology or wants/needs to be. This would suit me fine if it were a converter and not just an adapter. While I can power my laptop and phones with USB-C to USB-C cables, I like to charge lower and slower in hopes of prolonging battery life. That was not a big issue when devices had removable batteries (which may be making a comeback in the EU). Most of my tech runs and/or charges just fine from a USB-A port.

One note: it has a fan and makes an audible noise, though only just barely. Didn't bother me at all.
Glad to hear it. I had two ready to pack for a trip to the UK which fell through. Still planning to use them some time in the near future.

I'm sure a search (Amazon) would pop up several more modern versions.
There are times I wish I could part completely with USB A but, with some legacy devices around the house that simply cannot be replaced its not easy to do so. Case in point: my Harmony Remotes. USB A to mini USB and USB A to micro USB. I can certainly get around the USB A part with adapters but, to what end? Not sure when Logitech stopped making them. In May, they discontinued supporting the older ones. I have tried other products but can't reproduce the ease of use of them so, I'm stuck with mini and micro USB on one and and A on the other. And yes, I did travel with one. Staying in the same brand hotel limited the hotel TV brands to only a few. On the rare times there was a different brand, they are not hard to program. Besides, I'm a bit of a germaphobe and would rather use my own remote - knowing where the buttons are, by touch, is another plus.
