Genuinely curious as to why it matters if a toothbrush head is knock off you buy an electric brush for the vibrations not the head.

I had a knockoff completely shred and shed its bristles in my mouth. It was horrifying. Never buying knockoffs again.

Simply knockoffs can use a different/worse material for the plastic or bristles than the original, thus giving you a worse cleaning effect. Have you seen bristles fell off from the brush? I have.

Have never had that happen maybe consider brushing correctly and not apply too much pressure ? As per the instructions you should just let it vibrate over your teeth there should not be any hard scraping motion

I've had a couple with loose bristles. I just pitched that head and used the next one. At 50c a piece it's not that disappointing. Of the 100+ heads I've gone through since getting an electric it's happened with one batch on three of the heads. Clearly a manufacturing defect. If I had cared enough I could have complained on Amazon and gotten a full refund. For $8, with more than half of the heads still working, it was not a big deal.

This is a bigger issue if you're buying for someone who does not have the ability to determine if a head is defective, such as a younger child or, perhaps, the elderly. As a disposable item which should be discarded on a regular basis (monthly), it's not as if the OEM heads will provide a (noticeably) lower trash footprint than a 3rd party option. And, yes, for $65 a year I will opt for the cheaper product which performs 97% as well.

The head matters more than the body. It's the part in position to damage your gums and enamel.
