Same. These all look like unknown budget knockoffs. I spend a lot of time in my office chair, always looking to get a better, more comfortable posture, but I worry about cheapened materials and longevity.

I would suggest keeping an eye on your local FB Marketplace, you generally see people getting rid of quality brands like Herman Miller, Steelcase etc.. for quite cheap.

And if they have tears or rips, just get some cheap cloth and cover it up. Most have removeable based that you can put a new cover on quite easily. I agree, dont skip on your daily driver chair, especially if you WFH.

Back when office supply companies were a thing, I got my Steelcase from one's annual tent sale. (lease returns, mis-matched, etc) That chair was heavy as all get out but built like a tank.

So, I like your idea.
