I agree although I have a family member who has had this unit (they bought it against my advice) for years and it has held up to heavy usage.
As a backup he nutribullet is better. As a main? The vitamix 5200 is far and away the best choice.

All these comments lmao. "Don't buy a 2002 Hyundai Elantra, buy a 2026 Mercedes GLS 600!! It's a much better car!" Well yeah the $550 blender is indeed better than the $60 option!

Can you explain why?

Looking at nutribullet there isn't an exact apples to apples equivalent, the closest one (which is a kit) is twice this price. The vitamix you recommended is not even close to this price point. I'm sure it kicks butt, but for 8x the price it better.

You might be right that those are better purchasing moves but I'm unclear at how to manage the bang to buck ROI with loose suggestions.

For the record, I just bought this last week to replace my equivalent model that is 6 years old. The old one still works just fine mechanically but the plastic pitcher is starting to crack. I'd continue to use it but this sale hit so it seemed like good timing for a replacement.

this is a great blender but I couldn't find a smaller pitcher for personal smoothies. dealing with the big pitcher for a single smoothie each morning is inconvenient

I recently wanted a blender for the first time in a long time. I looked at ninja (I have several small appliances) , Kohl's had a nutri bullet 3 or 4 pc unit 75$ normally much more money. Kind of an impulse buy mainstays ,Walmart 20$ blender instore does everything I need it too.

I thought the same thing until I went through 4 cheaper blenders in a year and decided to get a Vitamix. that was 15 years ago and it's still going strong. he'll, my cousin's husband apparently didn't know my margarita recipe doesn't call for a spoon and blended that spoon for a solid minute before he realized something was wrong. Still works, but I made him buy me a new pitcher anyway. THEN, someone told me to call the company and tell them about it and they sent me another one anyway. Vitamix is where it's at.
