Edit: I should also add, if you visit the Seagate website on your mobile device (and possibly incognito), you should be presented with a newsletter signup offer for an additional 10 percent off.
Edit 2: It seems they have killed the ability for the newsletter code to apply to already discounted products.

I have not followed up with these price recently, but I believe price wise, this is much better than WD on sale?

Exos are on sale today on ebay > Seagate Exos ST26000NM000C 26TB CMR 7200RPM SATA6Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Hard Drive | eBay [ebay.com]
refurbished vs this is new
I'm considering grabbing 1 or 2 just to throw into my redundancy mix.
"Despite the introduction of the USB-C plug [...], the Micro-B plug continues to be fitted on certain, often budget, hardware." https://en.wikipedia.or
Micro-B connector is an older standard compared to USB-C, with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps; USB-C up to 10Gbps, 40Gbps, 80Gbps. USB-C also supports Power Delivery (PD), capable of delivering up to 100 watts (240W?) of power, far exceeding the 4.5 watts typically provided by USB 3.0 Micro-B. USB 3.0 Micro-B is prone to wear and disconnection over time.
USB 3.1 Gen 1x1 (5Gbps), USB 3.1 Gen 1x2/USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 (10Gbps), USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps), USB4 1.0 (40Gbps), USB4 2.0 (80Gbps)
I don't think 4.5 watts (from Micro-B connector) is enough power which may explain where there is also an included 18W power adapter.

I did buy 2 of these drives, I did research on them, ... and there are a number of threads on slickdeals the last month of so, maybe look over them. It is 250 dollars, so research it.
For me, I will use this drive kept in Enclosure! PERIOD! I unbox it, attach to my PC and transfer my stuff onto hard drive, then remove from PC and put it back in box it came in, and store in closet/drawer. I loaded them up with stuff, with about 230-240 MB/s speeds average.
These are NOT SMR drives, but CMR drives with new way of making them HAMR!
These should last me years if I do this! I have only about 20 hours on them.
They are my 3rd way to back up my stuff.
Some people here posted they got errors. BUT these IDIOTS (sorry for term) NEVER told us what they did with drive. Maybe TELL US everything you did. Did you shuck it and put it in NAS/DAS? Did you run it 24/7? Do you always check TEMP of drive as you are using it? Did you drop it or jar the drive as it is writing?
I am being as SAFE and CAUTIOUS as I possibly can be! I monitor the TEMPS always. Put FAN pointing into the vents. I live in Florida so temp here gets hot!
I did buy Seagate SMR drives in past, that when I bought them didn't know they were SMR drives at the time (it was before the Scandal came out... and both died in my NAS. I have ONLY WD enterprise drives in my NAS's/DAS's. I play it very, very safe.
If one drive does get errors, explain to the others what you did with drive, so we can learn from your experience.
