Pushed/advertised regularly, but not junk products. These are on the same level as anything Anker, UGreen, etc. They all come from the same plant in China basically.

They've stood by warranties for other products for me in the past. I've never had any connectivity or true voltage issues with any of their batteries, chargers, adapters, etc.

Going to need some proof as it relates to them being "junk."

Please stop making retractable cables for everything! If it breaks, you're SOL!

Anker simply has brand recognition (IE: Their products are common place in big box stores), but they've been slipping in recent years. I've had more products fail recently from them, than any other brand - UGreen, Belkin, Baseus, Aukey, etc.

Just because they charge more, doesn't always necessarily mean it's better quality. Plus they were caught selling customer's data and having breaches of their sister companies.

At the end of the day, no one's forcing you to buy their products, and it becomes more of an eye of the beholder and anecdotal accounts of people's experiences with them. They've been the up and coming new kid on the block, and I don't see that changing, they'll keep getting their share.

I've had one bad experience with them that was rectified and resolved, but until they fail consistently and repeatedly, I don't see any reason to pay 50%+ more for equivalent specs from other brands.

Returning the anker 20 W product I received just today for this one 70w. Looks a lot better thank you. Perfect for Australia & Fiji in November....

Nice find. Bought a couple at $32.50 that I just missed the return window. Saw the Anker adapter but the lack of a grounding plug is a no go.

Pair one of these with a multiple plug charger and you can cover most charging needs when traveling. The adapter weights 8.7 Oz and the extra US two prong on the side is a nice addition.

Haven't tried everything in their lineup, but have tried a couple of their Power strips (the 20w [purchased 2023] and 65w [2024] GaN ) that have been solid for me. Was a little hesitant on the brand but for the price, comments, and reviews I gave them a go. Sorry you haven't had the same luck, but like I stated just used a small subset of their line-up. Occasionally they have a high pitched squeal, but its not often or often enough at a volume (or human hearing pitch) where I notice. Can't tell you at what load or no-load (probably this, but it has a power button to turn it off in this case when not in use) combo it occurs, but power output has always been fine. Power button is good, but I sometimes forget to turn it on when I plug it in, lol. Also have a couple of their USB-C cables but haven't used them enough to rate one way or another, other than to plug them in once upon arrival to ensure they worked.

In the past I have enjoyed Anker's quality. Prices have gone up with popularity and ingress into places like Wal-mart where the brand is more recognizable. On Sale, I'd probably go with Anker, but I'm not paying a premium just for the name if something else works just as well. Sometimes it depends on the product, ( good name doesn't mean they make everything at same quality), price point of the type of product (less likely to go off-brand on large purchases without a lot more background info), etc.

I bought this on Prime Day for my trip to Japan which I just returned from last week. Worked out well for me, handy to have the different power prongs as I had problems with the universal outlets on United Airlines using the US prongs. Was able to charge phones, watch, earbuds using all ports.

I like the retractable USB-C cable so you can quickly power a device. Decent cable length. For those who are concerned if the cable breaks there is another USB-C port you can use.

I think this is a worthwhile get at a great price.

This is just what I needed to know! I was just considering grabbing one of these for trips to Japan. Had to find a Yodobashi last time

And this is the heart of the problem. The reason there's so many products with different brand names is for 'bait and switch'--bait is when the product is good, and then the switch happens and they start putting all the junk quality control items into inventory for quick sales and then rotate the bait to another brand and then rinse and repeat.

All the shady in the world comes out of that place, romance scams, pig butchering scams, the works...

The best way to combat this is to find domestic companies making their own product--they will be at the mercy of the supply chain, but at least they will be trying to not scam people. Terrible world we live in when that is considered a high bar now. EEK!
