wow, i would do the cheapest screen, plus 5070 upgrade. or do the cheapest configuration cuz this is a beast. but i would also probably run it on 8 cores only for gaming. but man for LLM local generations, with a 5070 .. man, i wish i needed a laptop.

laptop 5070 is same 8GB vram as the 5060, and only 10-25% faster, depending on power consumption. Much smaller real world difference between laptop 5060 & 5070 than one would think based on Desktop 5060 v 5070.

I'd almost always choose a higher end screen. Especially you're going to be looking at this all day, every day. Especially on a 15"+ panel.

Once you go past 1920x1200 average pixel density to something like 2560x1600 or 4K or greater, you have a hard time looking at anything else.

Now, if you're leaving the machine docked 90% of the time w/ external monitors doing most of the work, adjust accordingly.

Be careful with these laptops from HP that have a long ship date. They come from Asia and they don't ship them in a protective box. Mine arrived worst than an "open box" computer.

So does that mean we have to pay a tariff?

No. HP pays it. They charge it to you in the final price anyway.

Who puts a Ryzen 9 wotha. 5060? That's nuts. Overpaying for things you'll never use or need. Bad match. A Ryzen 7 or even 5 would be potentially better due to thermals and power, and most definitely cheaper. Dunno... This isn't worth a thousand bucks. With how bad the thermals on this thing will be, a 700 dollars Ryzen 7 + 4060 will perform better.
