What does the subscription for these actually do? Are they pull the same bullshit as everyone else where the device gets gimped if it's not "activated"?

main benefits are storage for footage when the camera is charging. data will automatically upload and clear out the memory card. their plan is, once you get a lot of footage up there, you will be stuck to renew because you have not worked through the footage. the $100 discount sucks because the camera has to be 399 or more. so it is only for new cameras. not applicable now. so there is never a deal using the 100 coupon. usually non subscription users get the same or better deal elsewhere.only thing good is 2 camera replacement if broken. 100 deductible. usually will upgrade you from older cameras
