Deja vu from the days of extracting the drive out of the bay to be used as an internal drive.

Seems good if you can find it. You can include Walmart B&M YMMV in the title.

Thanks OP!

Grabbed the two My Passports that were at the 55904 Walmart for $69 each.

(No idea if there are any at the 55901 Walmart. I don't get to the NW side of town very often.)

Hopefully these will fare better than the clearance 4TB WD Black P10 Game Drive I also got at the 55904 Walmart back in November 2023. It has died with C5 Current Pending Sector Count of 8BC and counting, plus 01 Read Error Rate of FFFF. I only used it as a destination for image backups of the Church Office PC. (I transported it slipped into a anti-static bag, wrapped with bubble wrap, and in an old Crucial box that once held SDRAM.) Took it home and copied the backups to an Easystore for offsite backups. (Important stuff is also on Dropbox.) Ridiculous, 0C Power Cycle Count is only C1 and 09 Power-On Hours is only 3AE. I won't be buying a WD Black Game Drive ever again. Not sure what I can do warranty-wise, it seems one has to buy direct from WD for them to honor the warranty.

I will start using one for the backups, with the other in reserve (once bitten, twice shy). Before this deal appeared, I was considering the 4TB Seagate portable (mentioned elsewhere on SD) that is $30 more.

This was my second successful SD Walmart YMMV. The first was at the 55901 Walmart a few years ago for the $25 1TB Toshiba Canvio Ready portable drives. Should have gotten more than I did, they have come in handy.

Technically the My Passport drives can be shucked, but the end result is a bare drive with a USB port instead of a SATA interface, which is mostly useless.

OK, but I am not a member of Sam's Club (which is next to the 55901 Walmart)...

My Walmart receipt for the two My Passport drives has:

WD 4TB HDD 071803790135 69.00 T
WD 4TB HDD 071803790135 69.00 T

I assume the number in bold is the SKU. It is different than the UPC (7 18037 90135 0) on the boxes.

FWIW,

Model: WDBPKJ0040BBK-WEWM
P/N: WDBPKJ0040BBK-0B
