This is not nearly as good as the last few sales we've seen on Slickdeals for the whole set, but I'm guessing tariffs are involved in pricing now. Other adjustable dumbbells I've been watching seem to be going up overall, with sales not as discounted. I've been assembling a home gym and watching FB Market for a couple months. After tax, this is in line with what I've seen for a used 90lb set with stand, so I'm in for one. If for no other reason, I can be done spending time waiting and watching. Thanks, OP.

For context from a quick search here, 11/2024 we saw the full set, including stand, for $388 before tax. 12/2024 $449. 3/2025 was $300 just for stage 1. 5/2025 expansions were $120 each.

I was doing some research on the differences. It looks like the Elite are the newer model and have the added wrist support, which some people find awkward. Also stickers for weight changing are more coherent on the Elites. The Elites also have a bit less "clank" noise when curling / pressing but neither models are too obnoxious. Im in for the Sport model due to $150 cheaper, and expansions are also on sale at $129. Still have powerblocks 5-year warranty. These seem to be best bang for your buck compared to other twist - adjustable dumbbells. They rank pretty high on Garage Gym reviews YT page

Good summary. And I agree with your take that this is about the same price as a used set. I just bought the 90lb set with a card that has price protection in case we see a better price for Black Friday.

Seems like a decent deal considering marketplace used are at or above this price.

what's the difference between the Elite and Sports (this one)? and are the Elite worth the extra cost?

I purchased this exact deal on Woot about a year ago (although I paid $219.99 for the base set, and $89.99 per expansion set) along with the stand. I'll focus on the product quality as others will mention the current price vs previous prices.
I added an aftermarket steel-knurled grip to each one (there are many manufacturers, I used Griffin Fitness) and have been very happy with them. I don't drop them and the lacquered coating on them has held up very well (and they're kept in a garage in Texas with Texas heat and humidity) with no rust on them. I have regular set of poly-coated Cap dumb bells that go up to 50lbs and I find myself using the power blocks more as the aftermarket knurled grip is level versus the slightly tapered grip on standard dumbbells.
Putting the price aside, I'd say they've been a very good addition to a garage gym without taking up a lot of space. While I had my doubts about the locking mechanism initially, I've found it to be very stable and more than up to the job of keeping the weight from moving around.

Edit: Just checked and I purchased my set in 03/2024.
Final Edit: Ultimately, I'm glad I went with the Sport EXP rather than the Elite version as the elite version (while being able to go higher than 90lb per dumbbell) also has a much narrower hand entry area when picking up the weights and a corresponding narrower area for your wrist when using the dumbbells than the Sport EXP version.

Price has been much better BF. There are some superior (?) models around, eg the Pro and Pro Commercial sets - eye wateringly expensive at RRP though. Dick's also have some models on discount occasionally

yea, i noticed that as well, thanks for the exact numbers. I'll wait a little bit longer for the sales closer to previous price.

Thanks! I've been needing the PowerMax Stand. My girlfriend does not like me leaving these in random places around the house 🤣

All items are up 25-40% compared to previous woot deals on these. That said, I would pay it as these have saved me so much room and time.

I think I paid $200 for the main and $90 for each expansion in 6.2024.

I have these dumbbells, they're ok, takes a while to change weights, i would honestly prefer having separate dumbbells just for the speed of access. I've never had the lock mechanism fail, although there is that feeling of paranoia that it's going to cos it's plastic.

Can I ask what takes so long? It looks like you slide a clip in and out according to how much weight you want to select.

This is a good deal. I looked for a long time but never found a decent deal on any decent adjustable dumbbells, I got tired of waiting. I ended up buying some Rep QuickDraw but would have bought these at this price instead if this deal was available.
