Do I need a Hue Bridge to control it with my phone? I have a Samsung Smart Hub and a bunch of Google home things already.
I would use these in the ceiling of a covered porch that's open on 2 sides. It wouldn't get any direct water but would be subject to fog and humidity. Any issues with that?
Shutting power off to a smart bulb makes it useless. If you have a specific use case for this like the colors, the hue makes quality stuff but overall my smart home experience improved when I boxed up 6-10 smart bulbs and just installed smart switches.
If you have a small space, excellent WiFi coverage to every corner of your space, no or very little WiFi interference/neighbors, and only intend to use a few smart devices in total, then the WIZ bulbs could be a good option for you. WIZ bulbs are cheaper than HUE, but their performance depends on the quality of your WiFi setup, and the number of devices on your network. I had problems with my WIZ bulbs sometimes depending on my internet service, or after a temporary power outage.
The Hue bulbs require a hub, but in my opinion, this is their greatest strength. They operate on a completely separate network than your WiFi, respond faster, more reliably, and keep working even if your internet service or WiFi network go down completely. I use Hue lights with Hue and Lutron Aurora dimmers, and everything just keeps on working. I sometimes use the app to configure the lighting or choose a scene, but my wife and kids just use the dimmers and switches on the wall. I never have to worry about things not working when I leave town.
Based on my experience with smart home devices, I have chosen to get rid of and further avoid smart home devices that require WiFi. Hue is a keeper for me.

Replaced all with these 6" lights. Had to drill/expand every single hole (using a drywall circle jig), remove the existing electric box, and rewrite using the included metal box. But easy enough. Imagine what an electrician would have charged !
