If you have the Beneplace employee discount through your employer you can get a 5% off code. Just navigate to your employer's Beneplace page and search for Dell. The 5% DOES work. I can't seem to get the 10% new email customer code to work.

Not worth it. Might as well build it yourself, 16 GB?!?
There's always someone who writes this on every prebuild lol! Please show me with pcpartspicker how you could possibly build this for less than 1350 or even 1500 ? I'll wait.

To note, Dell branded ram is manufacturer by Kingston but still wont work if you buy the RAM directly from Kingston. I bought Patriots and Kingston directly and still did not work then ultimately I overpaid the ridiculous price directly from DELL and the XMP feature finally work."

This is very helpful information. Thanks
What benefit did you see for using their branded memory to enable XMP?
Isn't the BIOS locked from any custom adjustment?

This is a pretty good deal. Usually Dell's customizations aren't worth it but I had a look and here are some thoughts:
  • RAM upgrades are super expensive. You probably want to buy 32GB+ of DDR5 elsewhere;
  • The CPU upgrade to a Intel Core 9 Ultra 285K at +$300 is not a terrible price. The existing CPU is a little weak (IMHO)
  • $50 to upgrade the 1TB SSD to 2TB isn't a bad option
  • $50 to add liquid cooling is also not a bad option
  • The PSU looks to be pretty good quality, particularly for this price
Do you know how much quieter is with the $50 for CPU liquid cooling? I assume that'd also cool down the internal case heat for the GPU?
It has good track record of never breaking down?

Motherboard / gpu / are not the best, Dell branded stuff. I would much rather build my own and get a high performance gpu/mainboard for the same price.

If you don't want to waste your time with building it, this is a decent deal though.

Someone claimed they could build this for less. Well, pcpartpicker disagrees. This prebuild is a great deal.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FrBpcx
Parts come in at ~1700 and I cut corners everywhere. Even if you didn't have windows it's closer to 1600.

I gave it the cheapest cpu fan mobo ram ssd and case. The mobo and fan are clearly inferior to the dell's and i wouldnt recommend them. I also used an 850w psu, not a 1000.

There is literally no way you can beat this prebuild price as a DIY if buying retail parts.

tempted... but I just don't feel like that CPU is good compared to AMD offerings at this price. May be worth it just on price... damn tax eats up the deal a bit Frown

I didnt understand. Are you saying that you can charge me and unlock it to be able to use any other memory ram other than the branded Dell ram?

this is the main factor that I bought the PC the first time this was advertised in SD. However, really depend on your needs. For example, I needed the XMP feature and i just thought I can just buy my OWN memory ram at a fraction of a price. And then later found out that non of the "XMP certified" ram worked on the PC because was NOT Dell brand. The 32gb XMP 6400 mt/s is $350 from Dell (imagine the ridiculous price). And SAME speed 64GB with RPG feature only cost $260. ALL OTHER non Dell brand, they run at the lowest speed of 4800 mt/s. In a grand of scheme, 4800 mt/s vs 6400 mt/s, you WONT see a BIG difference I supposed.

Newegg bundles 265KF+ASRock Z890 PRO RS WIFI for $377 and nobody paying $120 for Windows its $9 dollar key on slickdeals.

https://www.newegg.com/tools/combo-builder/6675

Got PCPartpicker down to $1462 liquid cooler/DDR5 6000/1000W platinum if swap cooler to cheaper one and 850W Gold PSU easily under $1400.
