Worth mentioning that this also comes with both Battlefield 6 as well as Borderlands 4. If you plan on buying both of those anyway (like me), this becomes even more attractive. I just wish they included the $10 upgrade to the Wifi 7 chip that you can configure on the HP website since this is their most "premium" retailer spec of the 14".

I bought the hp omen 14 with 5060 and 32 gb for about $1190 before cashback during the 4th of July sale. It is an awesome laptop beside there is slight coil whine noise. I had to return it because I hate coil whine. I then purchased the Lenovo 7i gen 10, which is 16 inch and much quieter system overall! Hp omen 14 fan always kick in when I only browse website.

how does this work with just USB c power? that's not a whole lot of watts for the gpu

It is not a full power RTX 5070 and has a max THP of 75W. Similarly, the CPU here is not Intel Core Ultra HX series which you see in all the heavier gaming laptop, it is normal H series, used in most Thin gaming laptops. And the Power Delivery is 140W Charger, not the conventional or common 100W one, which ,ost of the reviewers use. Head over to the Just Josh YouTube where they did a in-depth review of this one.

Does anyone know if an Open Box comes with Battlefield 6, or is it just for new purchases?

EDIT: Never mind, Open Box models most likely don't come with the codes or did when they were purchased new and have since been used. Quick math shows that BF6 and Borderlands 4 are about $140 together which puts a new model cheaper than the cheapest Open Box available in my area (before taxes).
