Understood, but tantip said "is" mixed with other oils, not that they suspect it might be. Conviction vs supposition.

Probably since it doesnt look like its 3rd party tested. Odds are that it is simply because most are. I think I saw one test finding about 80% were watered down with other oils like vegetable oil and such that are much cheaper. So because of this , a lot of purist look for 3rd party testing to be safe. Just guessing though.

This product may be from Italy, but the olives it's made from are not. If that was the case, it would be clearly stated.

so the buyers of the largest retailer in the world are getting ripped off by their suppliers on a company name branded product?

yep Italian olive oils are almost always adulterated with supposed evoo from multiple regions. if they get caught they say well we belive the other sources are at fault. this is a major mafia line of business.

Be very careful when buying "olive oil" let alone "extra virgin" from a source that doesn't grow olives. Mid level distributors and resellers (especially in Italy) frequently mix other vegetable oils, low quality olive oil, and add chlorophyll to enhance color.

I didn't want to put this in my earlier post but yes, the Italian olive oil industry is totally corrupt.
