all of the specs are effectively the same until you get to the os updates. the edge+ is only getting 3 updates from 2023. and the s25fe will have android 23/ one ui 15. different world over there.
the chip is also better on the s25fe. only downside here is the storage.

this is the edge+ final year of os update. it is already eol

Likely true but I have the S23 fe from a previous Metro deal and it remains an excellent phone.
I got rid of mine over the horrible battery life. That phone has a horrible processor.

Found out, Tracfone account# is the same as IMEI# of the phone where you have used their SIM Card...
Text FOUR to 611611 that will provide you with the Last 4 #'s of your Account number, then match that to your IMEI

To request your transfer pin text NTP to 611611 and to get your Zip Code login into your TracFone account and check details under managed lines.

If you get an error message when porting into Metro from Tracfone don't close out. X out of the popup window,, hit back in your browser and submit again with the exact info, if the information is correct and you're order isn't being denied for others reason then it will go through on the 2nd port in attempt.

I have the S25, S25FE, and S24FE, bought at $250, $100, and $100 respectively.

In terms of specs, S25 is superior in every way, except that the display is too small for my liking. S25FE is very similar to S24FE, both having Samsung Exynos 2400 with S24FE has the pared down version 2400e. Big plus for me is the S25FE weigh less than 200g, the comfortable cutoff point for me. Anything heavier than 200g gets uncomfortable for extended use.

In terms of performance, I do not see any difference for my intended use among the 3 phones. I do not play games or graphic rendering so the S25 SD Elite is an overkill for me. All 3 perform relatively the same for my intended use, which is multi-tasking with lots of apps opened, videos, and music. One big negative I noticed from the S25FE is it runs much hotter than the other 2. Exynos 2400 with faster clocked speed might be the reason. I'm not a fan of Exynos, and it's ironic that the phone is called Fan Edition. But it's cheaper than the S25.

Thanks for the write-up. Did you buy all of them from metro? And are going to wait one year to unlock? Or do you have Metro service already?
I was going to get this s25 Fe but I think I'm going to wait to see what kind of promotions come up for the Black Friday.
100+65+tax. Is a good price.
But 0 + 65+ tax is better.
If I can get that for either of the Fe editions in November.
I don't think I would ever consider s25 without the Plus or ultra.

I like it. Much more polished than the S24 FE, lighter, thinner, and much smaller bezels. Camera is good and battery life is solid. Charges very fast. I would say flagship level performance.

I don't follow. You either choose a new number or choose to port in. If you choose to port in, the process is part of your activation that has to happen within 2 weeks of you receiving this phone.

So if you want to port in at end of month, order now, wait for it to arrive in the next few days and wait to activate.

The point is that you are slowly upgrading your phone for a slick deal so that it can stay somewhat up to date in terms of hardware and software. Instead of letting the phone get so old that it would no longer be financially viable sold, used for trade-in, or given to a friend/family. It's really a personal decision.

You could buy a phone at full price and upgrade it every 2~6 years, or just use these deals to upgrade year over year for a fraction of the full price of a phone. The hope is that you can recoup the original costs over time instead of just having e-waste by the time you actually are ready to upgrade again.
BINGO!

I thought the simple thing was to get a new phone plan with physical sim and switch that over to metro for this deal. Will that not work? Why are you all trying to get a new esim to switch to metro?
because:

eSim takes few seconds to get the number. Physical takes few days to receive. You do the math 😆

For those wondering about T-Mobile activation, it kinda still works on the motorolas and less on the Samsungs but give it a try:

https://slickdeals.net/f/18545848-metrobyt-mobile-motorola-moto-g-stylus-2025-free-with-1-month-65-plan-new-number?v=1&p=179013355#post179013355

I'll repeat below:

1. As soon as you take it out, DO NOT insert the Metro SIM, instead, insert your T-Mobile SIM
2. Start the phone
3. It either starts working or it throws an error
4. If it starts working, you can put the Metro SIM in the drawer and it will autoactivate after I think 14 or 20 days
5. I think you can use the Metro SIM in another phone to use the service
6. The phone will unlock in a year during which you can only use it on T-Mobile

The moment you insert the Metro SIM into the phone, it will lock it

If I don't wanna port in my current number, is there ways to fulfill the port-in requirement -- via google voice or anything?

Yes, all of them are from Metro, and I'm with Metro although I switch carrier quite often. I usually trade most of them in or sell them before they unlock. If I like a particular phone, I trade the unwanted phones for the unlocked version of that phone.

I highly doubt that these recent FEs will drop to $0. S23FE briefly hit that price once and it was quickly gone. I never had a chance at that time. The S24FE and S25FE are very close to flagship level so the demand for them is higher than before. I was hoping for S24FE to drop to $50 once S25FE comes out, but it didn't. Even at $80, Metro is having problem keeping it stocked. I called in a few times checking on when it will be available, but no estimate time is given.

Anyone had success ordering with add a line? port in + $99 + $35 ? Keep landing on dreaded 'Call Us' smh
First i ordered the the stylus with free #. Then after delivery i was able to add another stylus for $35. Then after the delivery, i tried to add the s25 fe with port in but got the error to call Metro. Tried to get another free stylus and got the same error. After 2 days, today i called metro and she was able to order the s25 fe for $143.86 including tax.

Metro fixed that bug where the website throws an error even with all the port info was entered correctly.

Straight Talk currently uses the same protocol as Visible in which the confirmed port-in from Metro does not trigger immediate deactivation of the line at Straight Talk. The deactivation from Straight Talk happens when your phone is shipped and you activated online via the email link or Order Status page. This is the industry standard.

TracFone still uses the old protocol. At the ordering stage, once Metro requested and confirmed the port, TracFone deactivates the line immediately. After a few failed attempts, I got fed up and filed FCC complaint. Tracfone responded quickly by reactivating the line and helping me through the porting process until I'm done.
I don't bother with Total Wireless anymore due to the required ID upload and no guarantee that those IDs are permanently safe.

noted.
maybe it will not go to 0.
maybe it will
the s23fe did go to 0, just days after release.
i got 2 of them.
was gonna keep for my son and i.
eventually sold all 3 for a handsome profit.

24fe are low inventory .
historically, when that happens, they dont restock online.
still up on website for refence to in store store.

25fe price may be lower on BF. may not.

however now, (unlike the old days)
metro deals are not that attractive, given the 365 day wait.
not too many will wait that long

i imagine not too many folks are buying the phones
(i have bought just 1 in last ~9 months)
(where before i would average 1 per month lol)

so i expect/hope metro to have more deals.

but maybe i will just cave in and get 1 x 25fe @ 99 price.

son has the only phone currently that can accept esim.

in june i used twigby $5 plan with his esim capable for porting into metro for a36 deal

son is back from vacation, but will leave for school in 1 weeks time

so if you have one phone line from Metro with 19 days left for cancellation as it is not autopay. If I take tablet now with $20 tablet line, do I've to continue my phone line or just keep tablet line for two months and cancel autopay?
