This is a FANTASTIC trimmer/edger. I have had this one for years and it does an awesome job and is built to last.

I was going to state something similar, but temper it because I know some derp would come in and insist that it's garbage and worthless. While it's not as powerful as a gas unit, given its weight, maneuverability, and its ease at replacing the line, it works for most of the lawn care maintenance that you'll need it for. I did find that if I didn't manicure my yard frequently enough, that the device wouldn't clear out some of the patches of grass that grew thick. But for regular maintenance intervals, it's not a bad device.

I've had this for over a decade and it still works! Battery is getting a little tired but its still good enough to get the job done. This is not a weedeater for a 2 acre yard, 0.25 and under and its more than good enough. 0.5 and you are probably pushing it on a single battery, especially if you have a lot of fence.

I already have the WG163 version I bought 7 years ago and am buying this. Its worked great and I even use it over a more powerful Ego trimmer I have.

Agree. The pivoting head is great for basic edging. I'm actually surprised no one else has stolen it for their trimmers. I keep looking at upgrading to another name brand (all of my other tools are black and yellow) but don't need or want their bulk. The only think I would say is the WG173 seems to be a more robust version of this (WG163), and might be a good upgrade for another $40 or so.

I purchased a similar model two years ago. They look identical and have the same 7600 rpm motor, but the battery size of the one that I purchased is 4.0 Ah; while the one that is currently on sale has a 2.0 Ah battery, which means that it has half the running time.

I must be the one person who had issues. My line feeding button stopped functioning after a year or two. I had to manually pop the head off ,feed a few inches, pop it back on and continue trimming. I moved on to the 80v Kobalt to go with my mower I had. I do agree with others, the head adjustment and built in wheel were great features I miss, especially because the Kobalt with battery is more than twice the weight probably.

I saw a few people mention Worx in the Ego trimmer thread. Is it worth the extra hundred to keep the Ego over this Worx?

I saw the line diameter listed as 0.065 so it's light duty.
I remember the EGO is 0.095.

Got this the other week for $79. It's an ok light duty trimmer. The line is thin and the feeding isn't great imo. The spool is also very small.

I'm returning mine for something more hd/powerful.

I bought this a couple weeks ago and have had a hard time trying to edge with it properly. I've had other string trimmer and edger combo that were ok. But this one doesn't work as well for edging. What Am I doing wrong?
