$70 bucks for expired food! I'm in for 10

A July 2025 inspection date means the food was packed three years prior.
The inspection date is not an expiration date but rather a quality control marker.
MREs can remain edible for a significant time after this date if stored properly in a cool dry place.

these must have been stored well because they are in great condition and the TTI dot hasn't turned dark. TTI= time and temperature indicator.

I have eaten a lot of MRE's in my time and I have never had that issue once. I guess if you are out patrolling or rucking around and not drinking any water it could happen just need to stay hydrated!

lowest i've ever seen them and i've been buying them since the early 2000s. we're in a glut right now that can't last, enjoy it while it's here
I wonder if it is because there's an executive order to replace the stock with freezed dried McDonald's.
Don't need MREs when you're deployed on your own soil

Eat all of these and you won't need TP, you'll be bound up all week.
I've heard that whole "meals refusing to exit" thing my whole life and only recently tried an MRE for the first time... they're FINE. The food is about the same level as canned tuna, canned chicken, and chef boyardee - boo hoo it's not yummy, that's not it's job, it works just fine to keep a few in the trunk of my car to facilitate day trips with kids with zero planning/prep.

Description says 7/25 is an inspection extension from 10/16.
Does this mean they date from 2016?

no, the extension is to 10/16/2025. pretty meaningless number for our purposes, really. the orange TTI sticker is our best indicator, the center darkens from time and temperature to tell you when they're probably out of date. the ones on these still look new

LOTS of the tuna menu around this time frame got substituted for either chicken chunks or jalapeno beef patty so don't be surprised if the camouflaged starkist packet isn't actually in the tuna bag

I would only choose the tuna because it also came with Reese's Pieces

Haven't been keeping track of prices and very interested in MREs. Has this been the lowest lately?
Yes as far as I have seen.

If you are lucky to find one, the vanilla pound cake in these is so good.
