Yes, we were there about 5 hours early and spent the time walking around. It went fast.

I was there in Feb this year, when they had the record high snow and cold weather. With that said, I'm used to much colder weather from skiing in high altitude places, so I didn't find it bad. We didn't get any snow in Tokyo areas even when the country side got a ton of it. Unless you are from a warm place, you'd be comfortable even in the middle of winter in Tokyo. If you are into snow sports, then this is a good deal to visit Nagano and/or Hokkaido.

In 2023, January had some unusual cold streaks. I literally wore my thin gloves under my medium thickness gloves to save my hands.

That said, the cold weather does make the ramen taste much better, if you're willing to wait outside the best ramen shops in tokyo.

Fantastic price.
You will be flying in either a 777 or a 787 for a direct flight.
Hope you're flying in a 787, beautiful and a comfortable plane.

Narita is less crowded. there are trains built for travelers and luggage that go to Narita. I prefer it to haneda

I went on February of this year too and exactly how you described it Tokyo and Osaka were clear the whole trip and Kyoto 90% of trip clear. the high speed rail did take longer to get to tokyo because they had to clear the snow on the tracks. besides that perfect trip with barely any snow falling. funny how we bith went on February you probably got the same slickdeal price I did lol
