Meh, skip this shit pasta and buy something made in italy without enriched wheat.

Might be 1.50 per box instead of 1.00, but well worth it.

You do understand that refining wheat removes nutrients and minerals and the enrichment process brings those nutrients and minerals back into the wheat to comply with FDA and regulatory requirements, right? Barilla is actually one of the highest performing pasta brands year-over-year, but bash away. I've been very happy with their product. Things like folic acid are regulatory in nature by many states (not all), has nothing to do with Barilla. They have to comply with some states on their ingredient list to be able to sell in all states.

I think folic acid enrichment is required as it's in the federal law, I still gave you a thumbs up

If you have a Kroger or Harris Teeter nearby, this brand is an excellent slow dried pasta made with Italian wheat. They're about 1.99 normally, 1-1.50 on sale. Far better quality than Barilla. DeCecco is decent if you don't have as many options.

I fully understand that, and also that wheat grown in Italy has higher quality standards and doesn't require enrichment to be sold. I've never met an American that's deficient in folic acid or processed grains.

If you want better quality pasta or less processed ingredients there's far better options, but to each their own. 1 dollar a box for 12 boxes of not great pasta isn't a deal either way.

Checked with wife… apparently that's what we're eating. She says it's their store brand
