Is this not a deal? $160 for a whole (large) home + garage wireless router plus mesh network system?
What would you suggest is a better deal/value?

I think that same netgear has been on sale before, refurbished like 17-25$ in the past. They are decent

Netgear, I haven't liked their stock firmware, they drop support too quickly and remove features on a whim.

Actually, I think the $100 system alone is enough for that. The $60 router isn't needed-- the 3pack includes its own.

Avoid the MK63 like the plague. My WiFi dropped consistently and speeds were nowhere near where they should've been.

fyi amazon review and pictures seem to indicate there is no usb port on the rax36 despite being listed in the description. Pictures of a different (older?) variant show usb port on the side.

Netgear use to be great but I haven't been pleased with them in years. I was have problems with my modem/ router, yes I know better now, because I didn't know about the chip issue. I finally turned off the wifi on the modem/router and purchased an Asus router several years ago and it is still going strong.

if you don't like Wi-Fi 6, you don't have to use it.

My TPLink router covers my entire large home, 3 floors, 4,200 sq ft. And the TPLink mesh devices (PHAROS) were $30 each, which cover all 5 acres to my shop.

Nothing wrong with TPLink. It's all I use anymore. If you don't like their firmware or think there is some "spying software" on it, you can easily re-flash with DD-WRT.

My old 7000 Nighthawk 1900 I bought in 2014 works like a charm.
Even with 30 connections.
