personally I think the real value if you're a pixel fan is with a refurbished pixel 8 or Pixel 8 pro. a renewed pixel 8 on Amazon is between 200 and 250 and you can find the pixel 8 pro for under 350 sometimes renewed. it won't have 100% battery but you'll get the telephoto camera if you get the pro model. get 5 years of updates. and the money you're saving if you get the regular pixel 8, you could easily just get a new battery. frankly I prefer the ergonomics on the pixel 8 which is a little more rounded. the flat edges sell better because of the association with premium iPhones but they're pretty unpleasant to hold relative to the more soft ergonomic back curve that the pixel 6, 7 and 8 all had.

I just got it. It came unlocked in regular Google packaging. Activated on the cheapest line via ESIM as somebody on this chat advised. Added second physical SIM from my main line. works just fine so far
So you created a new account/new line, then popped your SIM card in from your existing phone and are able to use your original number with this new phone?
No, just read carefully what I said. Phone came unlocked in regular Google packaging with original seal. There is no way to lock Google phone by a MVNO without opening it first, so if it is original Google seal, it means it is unlocked. Also check OEM unlock in developer's options. I activated it first on the US mobile cheapest plan as it was advised by one of the slickers for $4.48( only gives you 50 messages a month). After that and only after that I put my regular line physical SIM( you also can use eSIM- just transfer it from your regular line into another eSIM slot-Pixel has at least 6 or even eSIM slots-but only 2 could be active at the same time), and it works just fine. Just set up the phone to use your regular line for calls and data and maybe messages( if you set US Mobile line for 50 messages for each month). I intend to pay for the second month to fulfill by 60 days obligation and then just stop US mobile service line and stay on my regular line.

when does it unlock? are there any fees for cancelling?
According to this article, it's unlocked. There's no clear terms in the post page, so I didn't list it as such.

they come unlocked from the box - no need to activate on US Mobile. I just inserted my Total Wireless sim card and it worked out of the box - no issues. I found that info on reddit - and it worked. not sure about the Pixel 10 though...

Mine came unlocked as well, but be careful, as I believe they'll claw back the discount if you don't keep it active for at least 30 days on US Mobile.

I don't think that's true. I ordered the Pixel 9 from the June promote. It came original Google sealed box. It was "locked" for about 60+ days. It unlocked a few days after I paid the 3rd month of service. Many others who ordered from June Pixel 9 promote can tell you the same.

Can I get the $339 deal if I port my number (Red Pocket) over and go with a monthly plan instead annual? Or do I need to activate with a new line?

I had read something about this being already unlocked and had forgotten about it. Turns out, it was actually unlocked lol. YMMV I guess? I wanted to use the pixel 9 regularly with service and bought a $10 line plan with US mobile. Then, I was like wait... lemme check if it's actually unlocked and put in my main line sim card in the pixel 9 without the US mobile line sim card. It worked with my main line sim card. I guess it WAS unlocked. But, just in case... I guess I'll do the same and fulfill the 60 days thing anyways.

Don't have pay for unlimited plan.

$339 without plan can click skip.

Once sign in low data>monthly>custom plan then choose 50 text or 50mb for $1.50 then taxes on it around $4.50 total for 1 month. If it comes unlock no need pay for second month only requires activation it says.
